On 30th and 31st January 2023 the 1023 edition of the Sant’Orso Fair returns, which has hosted artisans and exhibitors since its origins in the city of Aosta.
Its birth, to be placed around the year 1000, merges with the legend of the homonymous saint, who donated in that period to the poorest clothes and the typical footwear called ”sabot”, still one of the symbols of the fair.
The ”Foire de Saint Ours”, as it is still called today, will take place over two days in the main squares of Aosta: those of Chanoux and Plouves. There you will find the Atelier de Metiers, a space dedicated to professional artisans of tradition and the food and wine pavilion of Aosta Valley companies.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet more than a thousand exhibitors and take part in musical and typical folklore events, immersed in the city of Aosta.
The event will be closed by the artist Katia Perret, who will perform at the Teatro Splendor on January 31st at 8.30pm. Her concert entitled ”Le fil du temps” will feature songs in the patois language, the Aosta Valley dialect.
